What it is
A foundation, not a product
The data platform is not software you license from us, and it is not built around one problem. It is a modern cloud data warehouse: the services in your own cloud, configured for an enterprise environment, so data can be extracted from your systems, stored safely and processed into something your people can use. Every report, model and agent you put on top of it stands on this layer.
Secure and auditable are how it is configured, not features added at the end. The services talk to each other over your cloud’s private networking rather than the open internet, access follows the identities and roles you already run, and every movement of data is logged, so what happened to a record can be shown rather than asserted.

The choice of cloud is usually already made — by your IT strategy, your licensing, or where the rest of your estate sits. We work across Microsoft, Amazon Web Services and Google Cloud, and configure whichever you run.

With master data management
Where the same person, property or asset appears in several systems: matching added to the platform, so each is recorded once by rules you can read. We are a Civica partner, and Civica MDM is one of the ways we do it.

Governed from the start
Governance configured in, not bolted on
A platform holding personal and regulated data has to be governed from the first record that lands, not audited once it is full. So governance is part of the configuration: the platform is set up so a governance tool can see every source, store and model in it, and the rules are in place before any data arrives.
On Microsoft, that tool is Purview. Configured alongside the platform, it maps the whole estate in one place, classifies sensitive and personal data as it lands, applies labels and access policy automatically, and shows lineage from the source system to the report or agent that used it. As the estate grows, governance grows with it rather than falling behind.

Why this matters for AI
An agent is only as good as the data it is allowed to reach
Every organisation is being asked what it is doing about AI. The honest answer for most is that the question comes a step too early: an agent working on your own data can only be as accurate, as current and as safe as that data already is. Pointed at systems that disagree with each other, it will answer confidently and be wrong, and it will be wrong at speed.
The work that makes analytics trustworthy is the same work that makes AI usable. Records reconciled so one person is one person. Definitions agreed so a number means the same thing everywhere. Access controlled so an agent can only reach what its user could. Lineage kept so an answer can be traced. None of that is AI work — it is data work, and it has to exist first.
Which is the point of doing it once. The same governed platform that feeds your dashboards feeds your agents, inside your own environment, under your own controls. Nobody has to stand up a second platform for AI, and no data leaves to make it work.

We have not met a source system we could not get data out of. Case management, finance, HR and payroll; line-of-business software nobody has supported for a decade; the mainframe or midrange system still running because replacing it was never worth the risk; and the spreadsheet somebody keeps on a shared drive because the system cannot do it. All of it is routine.
Some estates take longer to open up than others, and we will tell you which yours is before you commit to anything rather than after. The answer is never that it cannot be done.
